Appointment October 27

Regarding Covid 19 form sent to me via email October 27 at 11:03. My appointment was at 11:20. I had already left for my appointment. Perhaps if the form was emailed the day before I could have filled out Covid form, and be informed of your Covid protocol. Or form sent with appointment reminder, would have been helpful. The office seems to be taking all precautions to making the dentist office a safe environment. Unfortunately I don't feel safe not wearing a mask for approximately 50 minutes knowing not all staff are fully vaccinated. Hopefully by my next appointment there will be a clear mandate on vaccinations. If not I will be looking for a new dentist office where all staff members are vaccinated. Tried calling office in morning to inquire about your Covid protocol. Phone rang until message came on saying voice mail not setup. S.Miller

Thank you for the feedback Susan. I am sorry our phones were not working for you on the day of your appointment. We have been working diligently to ensure our patients can reach us. we have a temporary number posted on our door as well as our social media pages while we work on this issue. As for the Covid screening, this is a requirement handed down to us by our governing bodies. They require us to have the screening done at the time of your arrival not before as symptoms can change. In regards to your comment of mandating vaccines. Our office follows ALL guidelines handed down by Public Health, RCDSO, ODA & Ministry of Health. This includes the recommended Vaccinations. We take great pride in ensuring we are doing our part in keeping our patients and staff safe. To date, there has been no confirmed COVID -19 cases in Ontario where transmission in a dental office has been a direct result of patient to staff or staff to patient. That being said we take extra precautions and our team is 100% comfortable treating patients while we work throughout this pandemic. We understand patients may not be comfortable taking off their masks however, your oral health is important which is why we go to these lengths to ensure your safety. At this time, it has not been mandated to have Dental staff fully vaccinated. This is partially due to the extensive precautions we are taking. That being said, you have every right to ask to see a fully vaccinated Dentist/Hygienist or administration team member. What we are not required to disclose under Canadian privacy law is is to disclose a staff members status. Similar to releasing any other health conditions, it is covered under a privacy act. We respect our team's privacy and keep all information confidential. If your health care provider wants to disclose their medical information to you, that is their choice. We hope you understand and, continue to feel comfortable in our practice. Please don't hesitate to contact the office in the event you want to discuss this in more detail. Thank you again for your continued support and making us your dental home. Lorene McIntyre Clinic Coordinator
